This notice explains what personal information the website at nacre.systems handles, why, for how long, and the choices you have. Our products handle information under their own terms.
In short
This website has no accounts, forms, cookies, analytics or advertising, and it loads nothing from other companies’ servers. We receive personal information in only two ways: the records our servers keep when you visit, and what you send us when you write.
We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for advertising or build profiles of visitors.
Who is responsible
Nacre Systems Ltd, Lourdel Road, Nakasero II, Kampala, Uganda, runs this website and decides how the information described here is used. In this notice, “we” and “us” mean Nacre Systems Ltd.
When you visit
Like almost every website, the servers that deliver this one keep a short record of each request:
- your IP address, the network address your device uses to reach the site;
- the page or file requested, and the date and time;
- whether the request succeeded;
- the page that linked you here, if your browser shares it;
- how your browser describes itself, such as its name, version and operating system.
We use these records only to deliver the site, keep it secure and find faults. We do not use them to identify you, or combine them with other information about you. We delete them after 30 days, unless a record is needed to investigate a specific attack or fault, in which case we keep it until that is resolved.
If you write to us
When you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, your message and any attachments.
We use them to read your message, reply and keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing.
We keep the conversation for up to two years after our last exchange, and longer only if it becomes part of an agreement with you or the law requires it.
Please do not send passwords, identity documents or payment details by email.
On your device
This website stores nothing on your device: no cookies, local storage or similar technology.
If your device or browser asks for reduced motion, the site follows that setting while the page is open. Your browser reads the setting itself; it is not sent to us.
Who else handles it
A hosting company delivers this website and an email provider carries our mail. They handle the information above only to provide those services to us, under agreements that require them to protect it.
Their servers may be outside Uganda. Where information is stored or processed abroad, we use only providers that protect it to at least the standard Ugandan law requires.
We disclose personal information to anyone else only when the law requires it, such as under a court order.
How we protect it
The site is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only the people who need server records or our email to run the site and answer you can read them, and we keep information no longer than this notice says.
If a security breach puts your information at risk, we will tell you and Uganda’s Personal Data Protection Office, as the law requires.
Your rights
Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 gives you rights over your personal information. You can ask us:
- whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
- where it came from, what we use it for and who else has received it;
- to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- to delete it, or stop using it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
We give these rights to everyone, wherever you live. Write from the email address concerned, or tell us how we can confirm it is you. We answer within 30 days, free of charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to Uganda’s Personal Data Protection Office, or to the data protection authority where you live.

This site links to other websites, including those of our products. Their own privacy notices apply once you leave nacre.systems.
Changes to this notice
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this notice and the date below. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version applies.
